Neurodivergent owl: Hoot Hoot Alex
A poem by Alex Shevchenko

After a mighty little spectrum feast,
Alex swore he’d stay awake a bit longer,
Armed with headphones,
Phone bangers and pure intention.

But alas – The sneaky sleep spell struck
Again, and he drifted into a dignified mini-coma
upon the Legendary spectrum blanket of Olubukola

Then came the moment……..
Before dawn,
Sunday the 19th April 2026.
He rose slightly offended
by existence itself, and released a
– Deeply frustrated: “Hoot hoot!”

He wished to write more of the script-but
Fate, chaos, and suspiciously odd availability
For the day ahead.

Alex is a student of the Wellbeing College.
He attended Expressive writing during the Summer term 2026, and kindly agreed to share his poem.
